Supermodel Gigi Hadid found herself in an unfortunate situation during her recent visit to the Cayman Islands. Customs & Border Control agents discovered marijuana and related items in her luggage upon her arrival, leading to her temporary detainment. However, the incident did not result in any criminal charges or convictions for Hadid.
Accompanied by Leah Nicole McCarthy, another member of her group, Hadid faced charges for the possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Both women appeared in court on July 12 and pleaded guilty. They were fined $1,000 each but were later released on bail without any convictions being recorded.
Hadid’s representative clarified that she had legally obtained the marijuana in New York City with a valid medical license. It’s important to note that medical use of marijuana has been permitted in Grand Cayman since 2017. Consequently, the incident did not tarnish Hadid’s record, and she was able to enjoy the remainder of her vacation on the island.
Despite the unexpected setback, Gigi Hadid and her friends continued to make the most of their time in the tropical paradise. They shared pictures and videos of their adventures, including one where Hadid displayed a temporary dragon tattoo on her leg, humorously likening herself to the iconic “girl with the dragon tattoo.”
Rather than dwelling on the incident, Gigi Hadid maintained a positive outlook and brushed it off on social media. She posted more vacation photos and videos, including snapshots of her enjoying the sun in a bikini, captioning them with the phrase, “All’s well that ends well.”
