On Monday, a third woman, identified as A.R., filed a s*xual assault lawsuit against Nick Carter, a member of the Backstreet Boys. In her lawsuit, A.R. alleges that Carter s*xually assaulted her multiple times when she was 15 years old, including incidents on a yacht and a tour bus in 2003. It’s worth noting that at that time, Carter was 23 years old.
The complaint details that Nick Carter provided the teenager with alcohol and drugs and continued to assault her despite her clear refusals. These alleged assaults have had a profound impact on her, resulting in s*xually transmitted diseases and significant emotional distress.
The first incident reportedly occurred on Nick Carter’s yacht, where he coerced her into performing oral s*x and engaging in non-consensual intercourse. Additionally, Carter’s sister allegedly encouraged her to meet him on his tour bus, where further assaults took place. A month later, she claims Nick Carter invited others to witness her engage in sexual activity on the yacht.
A.R. and her mother reported these distressing incidents to the Pennsylvania police. Nick Carter’s legal team issued a statement asserting that a police investigation had cleared his name and even suggested that A.R. might have faced charges herself.
Nick Carter’s lawyer emphasized that repeating unfounded allegations in a new complaint doesn’t make them any more credible. Carter eagerly awaits the legal proceedings to reveal the truth about these accusations.
A.R.’s lawyer argued that the absence of criminal charges should not deter her from pursuing a civil lawsuit. The attorney for another accuser, Melissa Schuman, noted that she had shared her story with multiple individuals in 2003 who could corroborate her account.
Nick Carter has vehemently denied all allegations made against him by A.R. and other accusers and has filed counterclaims against some of them. Despite attempts by the accusers to halt these counterclaims, they have been allowed to proceed in court.
