The highly anticipated countdown to Christina Aguilera’s Las Vegas residency is officially underway, and the Grammy-winning singer has treated fans to a sneak peek into what they can expect from her upcoming shows. Aguilera, 42, shared a rehearsal video on Instagram, giving a glimpse of the preparations for her residency set to begin on December 30 at the Voltaire Belle de Nuit venue at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas.
In the rehearsal video, Aguilera showcases her vocal prowess by singing “Guy What Takes His Time” from the 2010 film Burlesque, in which she starred alongside Cher. The short clip captures her rehearsing the sultry musical number, marked by a few dance moves and the iconic vocal runs that Aguilera is known for. Dressed in thigh-high black leather boots, a black jersey shirt-dress, and a stylish black satin baseball cap with oversized sunglasses, the singer exudes confidence and charisma.
“10 days ’til show day 🎤,” Aguilera captioned the post, building anticipation among her fans for the much-anticipated residency.
Earlier, on Saturday, Aguilera had shared an Instagram carousel teasing the opening night, featuring her posing on a celestial-inspired stage in various metallic outfits. Two weeks ‘til opening night 💎,” she captioned the post, heightening excitement for the grand premiere.
When Aguilera announced her Las Vegas residency in October, she also revealed a new blonde hairdo, setting the stage for a fresh and dynamic performance. “Immerse yourself in the fusion of art and music 💎,” she wrote on Instagram. “I’m bringing an intimate, seductive and sophisticated new show to Las Vegas,” Aguilera continued. “@voltairelv will allow me to be up-close-and-personal with YOU for a truly modern twist on the performance experience.”
In addition to her residency, Aguilera is set to executive produce a stage musical adaptation of the film Burlesque. Written by Steven Antin, who directed the movie, the stage version is expected to include songs penned by Aguilera, Sia, and Diane Warren for the film, as well as new numbers by Todrick Hall. The production is slated to premiere in the U.K. in the future, as reported by Entertainment Weekly in late September.
