David Beckham pens heartfelt message to son Cruz following major milestone
David Beckham extended his congratulations to his son Cruz upon learning that the 18-year-old had successfully passed his driving test. On Friday, the 48-year-old football star shared a recent photo of Cruz seated in what seemed to be a burgundy Land Rover on his Instagram. In the caption, he wrote: “Look out, someone just aced their test. Great job, buddy. Love you x @cruzbeckham.”
In response to this heartwarming post, Cruz later took to his own Instagram stories to share that he had headed to a McDonald’s drive-through to celebrate the occasion. Alongside a photo of a Big Mac meal perched on the car’s armrest, he added the caption: “Always the first stop.”
With Cruz now following in the footsteps of his older brothers – Brooklyn, 24, and Romeo, 21 – by obtaining his driver’s license, the next family member in line to tackle a driving test is their younger sister, Harper.
It’s evident over the years that the Beckham boys have inherited their father’s passion for automobiles. Back in May, Romeo was spotted driving a £80,000 Maserati Levante in London, and Brooklyn is known for having an impressive car collection himself. When he initially passed his driving test, Brooklyn chose a £38,000 Mercedes-Benz, and since then, he’s been seen driving a BMW M3, along with the electric Jaguar XK140, a gift from his parents on his wedding day. Perhaps Cruz will also embark on building his car collection!
The Beckham family has had a week full of significant milestones. Just days before Cruz’s driving test success, David unveiled the first trailer for his Netflix documentary, “BECKHAM.” The teaser showcased both David and Victoria discussing the highs and lows of his career, as well as the impact of fame on their relationship and family life.
The synopsis for the upcoming series reads: “BECKHAM, a four-part documentary series, tells the inside story of a global football star and cultural icon. Sharing the trailer on Instagram, David expressed his gratitude and anticipation: “Ten years since I retired from playing football, I’m proud to share the first trailer for BECKHAM, my Netflix documentary series. I’m so grateful to @fisherstevens for his partnership over the past two years to bring this project to life. Many hours of conversations, many stories I’ve never told, and many people from my life and career sharing their memories. I can’t wait for you all to see it.”
Victoria also showed her support for her husband, sharing the trailer and writing, “I’m so proud of you @DavidBeckham and everything you’ve achieved… I can’t wait for you all to see BECKHAM on @Netflix from October 4!!”
