Jennifer Garner coming back as Elektra in Deadpool & Wolverine was a highlight; her one-liner about her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, was great.
Since Deadpool & Wolverine are already getting raves, it’s obvious that the movie has a lot of fun surprises from Marvel. Of these, perhaps the most notable was the performance of Garner who sang again her part from Elektra. She elevated the cute cameo to a whole new level by giving Affleck a dig and this made her headline news. (Spoiler alert: this article provides some important information concerning the film.
For the few who might not recall, Garner made her initial introduction to the Marvel character as Elektra in Daredevil in 2003 before getting her own solo picture in 2005’s Elektra. In this new film, when Reynolds’ character complains about the absence of Marvel heroes in the wasteland, he names Affleck’s Daredevil. Garner’s Elektra then fires back with a light-hearted, “Oh it’s okay,” in reference to the real life divorce.
Garner and Affleck got married in 2005 and have three children together; however, they filed for divorce in 2015 and officially divorced in 2018. Though they are not together anymore, they are on good terms and often spotted together for family occasions. Garner is dating John Miller now, as for Affleck, his personal life became a subject of much discussion recently due to rumors about his affair with Jennifer Lopez.
It was rumored that Garner will be back as Elektra when the movie was in the making. She has also described the difficulties she had wearing a costume of Elektra saying, “I had to be cut out of and sewn into the pleather pants every time I needed a bathroom break, which took about 45 minutes I definitely learned to hold it in And to achieve Elektra’s look, I wore multiple chicken-cutlet fake boobs—three on each side of varying sizes Everything was pushed up and out.
