In a heartfelt Instagram post, Eva shared several photos of herself alongside her mother, celebrating her birthday in their California home. The images captured joyful moments between the two Evas, as they posed together. The elder Eva sported red pigtails, black eye-shadow, and cat whiskers painted on her face in one of the photos.
In her caption, Eva conveyed her affection, writing, “Mami is 82! Mami Lioness and her Cub.” She added in Spanish, “Te amo Mami. Eres mi Reina,” which translates to “I love you, mommy. You are my Queen.”
Fans of the actress flooded the comments section with birthday wishes for Eva’s mother, praising her beauty and wishing her health and happiness. Eva, who was mostly raised by her mother in Los Angeles’ Silver Lake neighborhood after her parents’ divorce, maintains a close relationship with both her parents, as her father, Juan Carlos Méndez, has also appeared occasionally on her Instagram.
Today, Eva’s mother resides in close proximity to her and Ryan in a quiet California town. She plays a significant role in her granddaughters’ lives, as well as in Eva’s life. Although the couple is known for their privacy regarding their family, Ryan provided rare insight into their family dynamics during an interview with GQ, sharing that they don’t rely on nannies for their daughters, and Eva’s mother is their primary babysitter.
Eva and Ryan have been together since 2011, with their first and last major public appearance together taking place at the premiere of their 2012 film, “The Place Beyond the Pines,” over a decade ago.
