Gisele Bundchen details daughter’s horrifying injury, calls it ‘the worst days of my life’
Gisele Bundchen, a proud mother, has commended her daughter Vivian for conquering her fears and getting back in the saddle, quite literally. Gisele shared the story of how, three years ago, Vivian, who was only seven at the time, had a fall from her horse that resulted in a broken arm. Vivian’s arm was bent during the fall, necessitating surgery and the insertion of pins to facilitate the healing process.
Gisele, who is a mother of two and also helps raise her ex-husband Tom Brady’s eldest son Jack, vividly recalled the traumatic incident, which took place in 2020 during the height of the pandemic. She described it as one of the worst days of her life.
Following the accident, Vivian endured six months with a cast and required another surgery to remove the pin. Despite this harrowing experience, Gisele marveled at her daughter’s resilience. After the pin was removed, Vivian resumed horseback riding a year later. During a family trip to Costa Rica in 2022, Vivian began riding independently again, eventually galloping along the beaches with her horse.
Gisele proudly shared that her daughter overcame her real and profound fear, reflecting on how sometimes adults inadvertently transfer their fears onto their children. Gisele, who also has a son, Benjamin, 13, with Tom Brady, has successfully navigated her own career, including writing her cookbook, “Nourish,” now available for pre-order.
In a recent interview with CBS News Sunday Morning, Gisele discussed her transition from merely surviving to truly living. She revealed that while she did not desire a divorce, she recognized it was the best course of action. Gisele and Tom announced their separation in October 2022 due to reported disagreements surrounding his NFL return. Tom had retired in 2021 but made a comeback with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers later that year. However, he announced his second retirement from the NFL in February 2023.
Gisele expressed her disappointment that her ideal of a lifelong marriage didn’t materialize but acknowledged that people change as they grow older, sometimes growing together and other times growing apart.
