Kourtney Kardashian pays emotional tribute on upsetting day in her family
Kourtney Kardashian, in a contemplative mood over the weekend, took a moment to reflect on someone very dear to her heart.
The Poosh founder, currently expecting her fourth child, turned to Instagram on Saturday to pay tribute to her beloved father, Robert Kardashian Senior, who sadly passed away on September 30, 2003, at the age of just 59.
Kourtney shared a heartwarming photo of her late dad on her Stories, accompanied by these words: “I miss you Daddy. 20 years ago today since I haven’t seen you.”
Khloe Kardashian also marked the anniversary of her father’s passing on her own Instagram account, writing: “The orbs are my daddy. I miss you.”
Robert was the father of Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, and Rob Kardashian and was married to Kris Jenner from 1978 to 1991.
His tragic demise followed a diagnosis of esophageal cancer just two months earlier. Robert gained significant media attention during the O.J. Simpson trial, where he served on the defense team when Simpson was accused of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman.
The Kardashians frequently reminisce about their memories of Robert, and in 2020, Kim received a hologram of her late father as a gift for her 40th birthday from her then-husband Kanye West.
Kourtney’s tribute to her cherished father comes as she prepares to welcome her fourth child, with a due date expected between October and December. The beauty mogul is expecting her first child with husband Travis Barker, who will join their blended family. Kourtney is already a mother to three older children: Mason, 13; Penelope, 11; and Reign, eight, whom she shares with her ex, Scott Disick.
Travis, on the other hand, is a father to Landon, 19, and Alabama, 17, from his previous marriage to Shanna Moakler. He also serves as a stepfather to Atiana de la Hoya, 24, Shanna’s daughter.
The couple has faced some challenges recently, with the pregnant star undergoing emergency fetal surgery, and Travis revealing last week that he had experienced dental surgery, a COVID-19 diagnosis, and an episode of trigeminal neuralgia.
Trigeminal neuralgia is a treatable condition that causes painful electric shock-like sensations on one side of the face.
Amidst these challenges, Kourtney and Travis also found moments of joy, as they celebrated with a Disney-themed baby shower attended by close family and friends in anticipation of their son’s arrival.
