Meek Mill Is Ready to ‘Stop Smoking’ After Snoop Dogg Announced He’s ‘Giving Up Smoke’
“I battled nicotine addiction, and the new weed with its plethora of chemicals became too risky for my mental well-being,” expressed Mill on X.
Snoop Dogg’s decision to quit smoking has sparked inspiration in Meek Mill, 36, who took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to announce his readiness for a lifestyle change.
“Ima quit once I go cold in Dubai,” he declared in a tweet featuring Snoop’s announcement. “Snoop started the no smoking challenge; we gonna follow up! It’s not healthy for me!”
In a subsequent post, Mill revealed that he intends to emulate Snoop’s decision due to a recent diagnosis of “a lil bit [of] emphysema” from his doctor. The physician emphasized that smoking was significantly reducing Mill’s “lifeline.” Emphysema, a lung condition causing shortness of breath and lung damage, was cited by the Mayo Clinic.
“I was addicted to the nicotine, and this new weed has too many chemicals and is too risky for my mental health,” Mill added.
While the response from fans varied, with mixed reactions, many applauded his decision. One fan highlighted the health risks associated with smoking, stating, “Smokin ain’t healthy for everyone! Any type of smoke in your lungs is bad, especially if you’ve been smoking for years.”
Acknowledging Snoop’s previous openness about his love for smoking, it’s noted that celebrities often share experiences of getting high with the rapper. In an episode of the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast, Ed Sheeran recounted smoking weed with Snoop backstage after a concert, describing the experience and its effects.
In October, Snoop shared his life motto as he ages, emphasizing the importance of self-care and surrounding oneself with positive energy and love. “You gotta treat yourself, don’t cheat yourself. Like fine wine, I’m aging better with time,” he expressed, underlining the significance of making the most of life.
