Megan Fox Opens Up About the Challenges of Pregnancy Loss With Machine Gun Kelly
In a poignant and deeply personal collection of poetry titled “Pretty Boys Are Poisonous,” released on Nov. 7, Megan Fox unveiled her experience of a pregnancy loss that profoundly impacted her relationship with Colson Baker, also known as Machine Gun Kelly. In a recent interview with Good Morning America, Fox spoke about the book, stating, “I had never been through anything like that in my life . . . It was very difficult for both of us and sent us on a very wild journey together and separately, trying to navigate, ‘What does this mean?’ and ‘Why did this happen?'”
Within the verses of her poems, Fox expressed her sorrow with heartbreaking and vulnerable words, revealing a side of herself not previously seen by the public. In one part of the book, she writes, “I want to hold your hand / hear your laugh.” In another verse, she adds, “but now / I have to say / goodbye.” The poignant lines blend anecdotes with analogies, capturing the depth of her emotional experience. “I will pay any price,” Fox writes, contemplating the possibility of carrying her baby to term. “Tell me please / what is the ransom / for her soul?”
Fans had previously speculated that Kelly may have alluded to Fox’s pregnancy loss in his song “Last November,” released on June 24. The lyrics include references to the duration of Fox’s pregnancy and the emotional impact of the loss. In the chorus, Kelly sings, “So sad we ended up here / So sad, but everything’s clear / Could I save your life if I pressed rewind? / I wish I could go back to November last year.” At the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, he dedicated a performance of “Twin Flame” to “our unborn child.”
Fox’s evocative poems in “Pretty Boys Are Poisonous” have resonated deeply with fans who have experienced similar losses. The collection has been described as a “beautiful release while finding her voice” and “hypnotizing,” touching the souls of those who connect with her pain and strength.
