Millie Bobby Brown admits to clash with Jake Bongiovi ahead of first Christmas as fiancés
Millie Bobby Brown and her fiancé Jake Bongiovi are gearing up for a lifetime together, but before they say “I do,” they’re navigating the challenge of harmonizing their Christmas celebrations.
Announcing their engagement earlier this year after three years of dating, the couple is now entering their first holiday season as official fiancés, setting the stage for what’s likely to be their festive traditions before their presumed wedding next year.
In the midst of wedding preparations, the couple is also discovering the need for compromise when it comes to Christmas festivities. Millie, sharing insights at a pop-up event for her new coffee line, Florence by Mills Coffee, revealed their differing approaches to holiday decor. “My decorations go up before Halloween,” she disclosed, adding, “Jake’s very much against that, but who cares?”
As they weave their plans for married life, Millie and Jake are crafting their own holiday traditions. Millie, a fan of opening a gift on Christmas Eve, explained, “My tradition is, you have to open a gift, big or small, on Christmas Eve.” Jake, unfamiliar with this tradition, is slowly warming up to it, albeit with a humorous touch. Millie recounted, “I introduced it to him, and he kind of is still not on board with it, but I’m like, ‘You have to open it.’ And then he picks the biggest one, and I’m like, of course you did.”
Christmas holds a special place in Millie’s heart, describing it as the holiday where she thrives, expressing her love for twinkly lights and ornaments. For her, the essence of the season lies in family and spending time with loved ones, reflecting on gratitude for the warmth of a well-put-together home.
Despite Millie taking the lead in Christmas preparations, Jake recently played host during an all-American Thanksgiving with his renowned family, including dad Jon Bon Jovi and mom Dorothea Hurley. Millie, a Brit, embraced the opportunity to experience a genuine American Thanksgiving, expressing appreciation for Jake’s mom’s cooking and the warmth of a wonderful family gathering.
