Orlando Bloom pays emotional tribute to Katy Perry and rarely-seen family ahead of birthday celebrations
Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry, known for keeping their personal and family life away from the spotlight, recently shared their joy with their countless fans.
Earlier this week, Katy unveiled her organization of a pickleball tournament named “Light Up The Court” in her hometown, Santa Barbara. She collaborated with her older sister, Angela Hudson, to raise funds for the Firework Foundation. This philanthropic endeavor took place just days before Katy’s 39th birthday on October 25.
Orlando, 46, took to his Instagram to express his admiration for his fiancée and her family in a heartwarming tribute alongside a video from the event. He wrote, “The @fireworkfoundation Pickleball event was another example of the Hudson sisters’ remarkable team effort to raise funds that will help empower children in underserved communities by igniting their inner light through the arts!”
“I’ve witnessed the smiles and joy created by the work of the Firework Foundation. So proud of my girl Katy.”
Katy, renowned for hits like “By The Grace of God,” conveyed her gratitude after the tournament, saying, “My mom introduced (or maybe even imposed) her love for pickleball on our family, and now we’ve decided to harness those pickle powers for good.”
She continued, “Yesterday, the @fireworkfoundation hosted our inaugural Light Up The Court pickleball tournament in Santa Barbara to raise funds for scholarships, more camps, and programs to bring the arts to children from underserved communities.”
With a touch of humor, Katy added, “And not to brag, but I totally beat @OrlandoBloom in front of everyone too. I’d like to extend a massive and heartfelt thank you to all who participated in the tournament, purchased tickets, volunteered, donated, and showed their support, near and far.”
On her birthday, Katy and Orlando chose to stay away from social media, likely celebrating with their adorable daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, who turned three in August.
In the previous month, Orlando, the Lord of the Rings actor and a devoted father, gave us a glimpse of his FaceTime conversations with his daughter. While Daisy wasn’t visible in the shot, a few small dolls of Disney princesses and toys littered their beautiful marble and steel kitchen.
Orlando humorously noted, “Talking to my daughter on FaceTime can sometimes feel like I’m talking to a cast of Disney characters,” adding a few laughing emojis.
Katy and Orlando joyfully welcomed their daughter into the world on August 26, 2020, just two days before Katy’s fifth studio album, “Smile,” was released. They announced the news with a black and white image of them holding their baby’s tiny hand and a statement from UNICEF.
We are overflowing with love and wonder following the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” they wrote, sharing their commitment to working with the organization to provide homes and resources for disadvantaged children worldwide. “We hope your heart can bloom with generosity.”
